Introduction

§         NDE is a method used to find out defects and faults in materials and structures in order to avoid catastrophic damage.

 

§         In this method, materials/structures are examined without sustaining any damage and they remain in their original condition.

 

§         Non - Destructive testing utilizes various available techniques to analyze the condition of materials without affecting their properties.

 

Non-Destructive Testing Facility at Louisiana State University

§         This Lab is capable of testing structures, bridges, roadways, pressure vessels, pipelines, composite materials, foams, natural materials and other specialized materials non-destructively.

 

§         It is a scientific as well as a technical center where new and improved methods are developed and problems are solved.

 

§         This Laboratory/Facility is established in collaboration with Louisiana State University and Southern University.

 

§         The NDE facility provides consulting to local industry.
