FLOW DYNAMICS AND CONTROL LABORATORY

 

This laboratory houses two experimental facilities: one for cold flow research on axisymmetric and non-circular, free coaxial jets for gas-turbine, combustor nozzle applications, and one for cold flow research in confined jets with swirl. The lab also features active, multimode acoustic forcing capabilities for open or closed-loop flow control. It is equipped with a Laser-Doppler Velocimetry (LDV)) system, a Digital Particle Image Velocimetry (DPIV) system, a High Resolution Digital Photography (HRDP) system, a two-channel Constant Temperature Anemometry (CTA) system with an automated calibration facility, high quality microphones and automated data acquisition and traversing systems.
